Lonely young women who are fragile and spend a lot of time on social media are likely to be easily influenced by ISIS militant group, says Minister Jamil Khir Baharom.
The minister in the prime minister's department said those who were lonely spent a lot of time on social networking sites such as Facebook and were susceptible to be charmed into joining ISIS fighters who use love as a lure.
“Lonely women who can't sleep at night will stay awake and be online on their Facebook. They are still online on Facebook at 2am or 3am.”
“That is the time when militant members will find their victims and influence these women,” he said at the launch of a seminar in Kuala Lumpur on April 16.
To date, a total of 173 Malaysians have been arrested for joining ISIS, with the youngest a 14-year-old girl.
