According to AhlulBait News Agency -ABNA- Selahattin Ozgunduz, the Friday prayer leader of Turkish Shiites in Istanbul, condemning the invasion of Yemen by Saudi Arabia and its allies and said: "These cowards are silent when their countries are in the hands of America and Israel and when their dignity is trampled."
"Yemen's people under the effects of colonialism and imperialism are always kept poor and out of facilities and wealth; and now when they are seeking freedom, Saudi Arabia and some other countries acting against Yemen's people with the help of America who sent them the message: "Don't worry, we are behind you!," he added."
The cleric continued: "When the United State invades their country and a handful of Zionists destroy their serenity and dignity they remain silent, but for fighting the innocent people of Bahrain they are always ready to do whatever is necessary for that. Saudi Arabia sends tanks, Turkey sends sprinkler trucks to disperse protesters and Jordan sends its police forces,".
Ozgunduz at the end of his speech implicitly criticized the policies of Turkish authorities towards developments in Yemen and said: "When Turkish troops with handcuffs on their hands and sacks on their heads were captured by US forces in northern Iraq, some of Turkish authorities continued their silence on that and that was because of the US; because the US was behind of that. And now these persons speak in favour of the US and say Iran is intervening in Yemen."
