Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop announced Monday that the government will contribute $ 500,000 for a new arts and culture education program, as well as the Islamic Museum of Australia to disseminate proper understanding of Islam, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The program aims to promote an understanding amongst children and the general public about Islam in Australia, including through the Museum’s collection of Islamic art and culture.
Partnerships, such as the one between the Islamic Museum of Australia and the Australian Government, are vital as we work together to promote social cohesion and expose the lies peddled by terrorist propaganda that seek to divide our harmonious society, Bishop said in a statement issued by her office on Monday.
