Kano zone of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of His Eminence Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky on Wednesday, 25th of Feb (7th Jimada Ula 1436) celebrated birthday anniversary of Sayyedah Zainab, daughter to Sayyedah Fatimah al-Zahra and Leader of the Believers, Imam Ali; sister of Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain (PBUT). She was born on 5th Jimada Ula lunar month.
Held at the central Markaz located at Kofar Waika Kano in the morning, the occasion attracted many people with Shaikh Khidr as the guest speaker.
The speaker gave a brief history of the pious Lady Zainab, from birth to death and lessons from her life, which he urged Muslims, especially women to emulate.
Earlier in her remarks, Maimuna Abdullahi said the rationale behind the celebration was to deduce lessons for the blessed life of Sayyedah Zainab worthy of emulation.
She charged women not to hesitate in demonstrating such good attributes exemplified by Zainab in terms of bravery, strict adherence to the teachings of the Holy Prophet (S) and many other good qualities.
According to her, from Sayyedah Zainab the world knew much about the chronicle of tragedy of Karbala, and from her the flame of Karbala was kept alive to this day.
A guest at the occasion Baraka urged women to hold tight to the teachings of Alhlu Bayt and unity of the Ummah, as constantly being propagated by Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, and handed down by Shaikh Muhammad Mahmud Turi in Kano.
Birthday cake was cut in honour of Sayyedah Zainab, songs of praise were also recited as highlights of the occasion.
