Malaysian police are investigating a video which depicted four masked men issuing a warning that they would "blow up fireworks" at a courthouse on Wednesday to symbolise their mistrust in the judicial system.
Federal Commercial CID director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mortadza Nazarene said the police have begun a probe into the video, which appeared to be a terror threat in the style of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militant group.
"We are aware of the video and we are taking it seriously," he said when contacted on Monday.
The Star is trying to get comments from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
The clip went viral a week after opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim was found guilty of sodomising his former aide and sentenced to five years in jail by the Federal Court.
In the one-minute-long video that was uploaded to one "Isis Malaysia 69" YouTube account on Sunday, one of the four men declared that their action signalled the beginning of their protest on the breakdown of democracy.
Another person was seen brandishing a Molotov cocktail while three other petrol bombs were placed on the table in front of them. A Malaysian flag was hung in the background.
One person was holding the photo of a woman who resembled local actress Nora Danish, who later told BH Online that she would file a police report shortly.
