Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani condemned the murder of three Muslim students in Chapel Hill, North Carolina (US) by a terrorist saying Americans claim their right of freedom of expression, but commit Islamophobic acts, murders and other crimes.

Speaking during his Ba’th al-Kharij (advanced) class in jurisprudence at Qom’s Grand Mosque (Masjid al-A’dham), Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani stated that the noble and revolutionary Iranian people created an epic through their widespread participation in the rallies celebrating the 22nd of Bahman – the day which celebrates the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, led by the late Imam Ruhollah Khomeini (RA), over the Western-controlled corrupt and tyrannical Pahlavi monarchy.

His Eminence thanked the people for doing their duties by showing the world that the Iranian people fully support the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He explained that by their massive presence on the streets and squares of the nation, the Iranian people demonstrated the message behind the 22nd of Bahman.

Their wholehearted presence showed their adherence to Islam, the Islamic Revolution and Wilayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurisprudent). Through their participation, the Iranian people renewed their covenant with Imam Khomeini (RA) and the martyrs who gave their lives for the Islamic Revolution. “This is one of the most important messages that the millions of people who marched in rallies celebrating the 36th anniversary of the Revolution gave [to the world],” His Eminence explained.

Further emphasizing this point, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani explained that the Iranian people demonstrated their unity, solidarity and their empathy toward all the groups, ethnicities and religious groups which make up Iranian society.

The revered scholar also stated that on the 22nd of Bahman, the Iranian people addressed the arrogant powers of the world. “Their presence proved to the ‘global arrogance’ and the West that the Iranian nation is not afraid of threats and sanctions and will stand up and resist on the basis of their legitimate rights and they will never retreat from this path,” he stressed.

On another important issue facing Iranian society, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stressed the necessity for government officials to make greater efforts to solve the peoples’ problems, saying: “The people have been present in all the necessary arenas and scenes and have defended the Revolution and its lofty values.”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that the authorities have a duty to the dear and noble people who have sacrificed a lot for the Islamic Revolution to strive with all their abilities to serve the people and attempt to solve their economic problems and strengthen their livelihoods.

Regarding international affairs, His Eminence referred to the murder of three Muslim students in Chapel Hill, North Carolina (US) by an atheist terrorist. He strongly condemned this crime, saying Americans claim their right of freedom of expression, but commit Islamophobic acts, murders and other crimes.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani also condemned the killing of innocent Shi’ite Muslims murdered by Takfiri terrorists while participating in Friday prayers at mosque in Pakistan’s city of Peshawar.

The renowned source of emulation added that these horrendous acts were committed behind the scenes by the global arrogance, the United States and the agents of international Zionism.
