Sheikh Zakzaky honored in 'Martyrs' families' ceremony in Mashhad / Photos

Leader of the Shiite Islamic Movement in Nigeria, His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky was among parents of martyrs, recipients of award of greatest honour in Mashad, Iran on Tuesday.

Leader of the Shiite Islamic Movement in Nigeria, His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky was among parents of martyrs, recipients of award of greatest honour in Mashad, Iran on Tuesday.

The ceremony was organized by students’ union based in Mashad, Iran, which was attended by family members of martyrs across the world.

Parents and family members of martys who attended the event alongside Sheikh Zakzaky included mother of Shaheed Ahmad Rosan, Ali Tufaili (representative of Hizbullah) and family members of Shaheed Day, killed by Israeli-Zionist forces in Syria.

His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky addressed the gathering, in which he discussed the influence of the Islamic Revolution in Iran across the globe and how it has impacted on all sectors and facets of the society.

He also gave brief history of the impact of the Revolution in Nigeria in which it culminated into an Islamic Movement on the path of late Imam KhomeinI (QS).

His Eminence also narrated last year’s Quds Day massacre in Nigeria, as well other atrocities on the annual procession in the history of the Movement.

Dr Kazimy from Holland who also spoke at the occasion said, enemies in dire thirst of innocent blood are jittery of the influence of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, hence the brutal murder of children of Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky.

While his visit to Islamic Republic of Iran lasted, His Eminence took time off from his schedule and paid homage to the tomb of Sayyedah Fatimah Ma’soomah and in Qom, where he offered supplications.

He also visited a centre for research and historical documentation in Mashad, headed by Ayatullah Wa’iz.

Ayatullah Wa’iz condoled the Leader over the martyrdom of 34 members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria during Quds Day saying, “They are blessed with a greatest honour”.

He also commended Sheikh Zakzaky for his unprecedented restraint, in the face of losing three of his children during the offensive by Nigerian military forces.

He prayed for victory for the Islamic Movement in Nigeria and presented Sheikh Zakzaky with a souvenir of book on Tafsir, “Mu’jam” of 28 volumes, which personally authored.

Responding, Sheikh Zakzaky gave brief history and influence of Shi’ism in Nigeria, which he said was as a result of the Islamic Revolution in Iran under the banner of late Imam Khomeini (QS).

Sheikh Zakzaky also met with officials of Al-Mustapha International University, Mashad.
