Manager of electronic encyclopedia group of Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi reported about compilation of an electronic encyclopedia about Imam Hussein (A.S.) in Arabic language.
According to Astan Quds Razavi news website, the manager of electronic encyclopedia group of Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi said, “with respect to the increasing popularity of using computer by people, creating electronic encyclopedia finds more significance than ever. Although studying the books is still prevalent among people, the youth particularly prefer to use software for its easy and quick access.”
“The Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi, hence, has got involved in this domain by producing a number of Islamic software including ‘Luminosity of Imam Reza (A.S.)’, ‘Deer Software’ (for kids), and ‘Imam Hussein (A.S.) electronic encyclopedia’ in Persian language”, Mustafavi continued.
Noting that Imam Hussein (A.S.) electronic encyclopedia in Persian was largely acclaimed by Persian speaking countries, he added, “With regard to the extreme devotion of the Shi’as to Imam Hussein (A.S.), the Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi proceeded to produce Imam Hussein (A.S.) electronic encyclopedia in Persian that was extensively received by people. The Islamic countries in the Arab world, however, remained deprived of such a valuable product that later felt necessary to be produced in Arabic as well.”
“Coordination sessions have already met and Imam Hussein (A.S.) electronic encyclopedia in Arabic has been partially completed. Using Arab speaking professors and consulting computer experts, the graphic and software space of Imam Hussein (A.S.) electronic encyclopedia was approved by the group. The design of this software accords well with the tastes of Arab speakers so that the Arab speaker can easily communicate with that space”, added the researcher.
“Imam Hussein (A.S.) electronic encyclopedia contains different parts including detailed specialized articles about Imam Hussein’s (A.S.) life, extensive discussions regarding the Ashura event, statements of Imam Hussein (A.S.), Rijal discussions, information on Imam Hussein (A.S.) holy shrine, Kalam issues, Fiqhi issues, poems, letter of culture, genealogy, media (film, picture, and map), geography and comprehensive bibliography of Arabic books about Imam Hussein (A.S.), etc.”, he remarked.
“To produce this encyclopedia, the list of well-known and authentic Arabic books about Imam Hussein (A.S.) have been thoroughly studied and investigated so that the titles of the software might be perfect and wide-ranging enough. For producing the specialized articles, the expertise Arab speaking professors are working with us in different domains”, Mustafavi added.
“Imam Hussein (A.S.) electronic encyclopedia is in fact an all-embracing encyclopedia that contains a full treasure of information about Imam Hussein (A.S.)”, he described.
“Imam Hussein (A.S.) electronic encyclopedia includes 9 basic parts, nearly 300 entries, and totally 12000 pages”, he reiterated.
“With respect to the sensitivity and vastness of the project, the research assistance of Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi has assigned a period of five years for completing the work”, he remarked.
Regarding future programs of the electronic encyclopedia group, Mustafavi continued, “Producing electronic encyclopedias on other Infallible Imams (A.S.) is among the programs of this research group that will involve in any domain if needed.”
