Al Wefaq National Islamic Society announced yesterday that it has submitted a new request to the concerned authorities to open a broadcast channel in Bahrain. Also, today, Alarab TV went o air from the Bahraini capital Manama.
There should no longer be a reason to delay the approval of Al Wefaq’s request after Alarab TV was given permission, the statement said.
”Al Wefaq hopes pluralism in media outlets in Bahrain would be respected”, it added, ”Unilateralism cannot serve development”.
Al Wefaq congratulated Alarab TV and hoped to see it succeed in being a influential media by being open and objective to all sides and opinions.
