The 61 young Qur’an memorizers from Fudiyyah schools under the stable of the Shiite Islamic Movement in Nigeria were on Friday treated to a grand banquet in appreciation of God’s blessing on the pupils who memorized the whole Holy Qur’an at a tender age.
It would be recalled that the pupils were graduated at a grand occasion attended by His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky in Kano recently.
The dinner which took place at the Kano Hussainiyyah was attended by Sheikh Muhammad Mahmoud Turi, the young Qur’anic memorizers, their parents and many guests.
Headmaster of the school, Malaman Hafizan, Malam Auwal S Abubakar said, the dinner was a thanksgiving to express gratitude to Allah the Almighty for the rare opportunity and blessing bestowed on the pupils, as well as to congratulate the parents and the entire Muslim Ummah.
He also said, during the occasion there will be a review of the progress so far made, and the future of the children in order to further their studies and expand the scope of Qur’anic studies in the society.
Commenting, Sheikh Muhammad Turi expressed gratitude to Allah for the successful completion of the graduation ceremony, and also commended all those who made it successfully possible.
He specifically mentioned the progress made, whereby in the last four years only pupils from Rijiyar Lemo Fudiyyah School were graduated, but this year additional three schools were involved.
He called on the pupils not let their effort go in vain, and urged them to jealously guard and practice what they have memorized through constant practice.
To the parents, he urged them to inculcate proper Qur’anic studies in their children as an obligation.
To grasp proper understanding of acquisition of Qur’anic knowledge and its practicability, Sheikh Turi called on members to listen to the speech of His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky on the graduation day. “The speech is full of wisdom and pointers towards effective knowledge acquisition and management, as well education development.”
In a closing remark, Malam Imam Yaqoub pledged the organizing committee’s readiness to imbibe the pointers contained in the Leader’s speech for future progress.
Highlights of the occasion were feast, poetry recitation and special prayers by the guest speaker, Sheikh Turi.
