Nigeria: 61 Shiite children memorized holy Quran / Photos

A total of sixty-one (61) children of Fudiyyah Primary Schools, out of them 21 are females, commited the holy to memory in Kano. The graduation ceremony took place at Filin Dala ground, Kano on Sunday the 27th of R/Auwal 1436

A total of sixty-one children of Fudiyyah Primary Schools, out of them 21 are females, memorized holy Quran in Kano. The graduation ceremony took place at Filin Dala ground, Kano on Sunday the 27th of R/Auwal 1436 (18th of Jan., 2015).

The children are drawn from four different Schools run by the Nigeria Shiite Islamic Movement as follows: 38 students from Fudiyyah Rijiyar Lemo, Kano; 15 from Fudiyyah Shanono Local Govt., Area, Kano state; 4 from Fudiyyah School Kwana Hudu, Kano and 4 from Fudiyyah School Suleja.

A nine yr old, Yasir Lawal, displayed an extra ordinary talent for his ability to explain places in the Qur'an of any verse he was asked. Gwani Mukhtar Bachirawa and representative of the National Chairman of the Association of the Memorisers of the holy Qur'an, Gwani Lawi tested the graduating children.

The graduation ceremony, which is the fifth, was attended by large number of people from far and near. Speaking during the occasion, the Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky said Qur'an is the greatest Miracle of the holy Prophet Muhammad peace and blessing of Allah be upon him and his household as each of the Prophets has his peculiar miracle. He further described this age as age of knowledge, reasoning and intellect as opposed to use of force.

Other activities during the ceremony includes parades by Fudiyyah pupils and presentation of gifts and certificates.
Among the distinguished guests at the occasion were Prof. Dahiru Yahaya and Dakaci of kazauri Alhaji Muhammad Badawi.
