Islamic Shia Assembly of Canada strongly condemned the hostage-taking incident in Sydney,Australia as Follows:
On behalf of assembly of Canada and all Canadian Shia Muslims, we strongly condemn the incident in Sydney,Australia. Islam is a religion of peace and denounces such criminal actions. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, the wounded and other hostages. At this difficult time, we stand together with the Australian nation in holding and supporting the values of freedom,peace and harmony.
Yesterday, on Monday, a mentally sick man who seemed to be an ISIS supporter took Hostages in a Cafe in Sydney. Three people died in the incident including the Hostage-Taker after security forces stormed the building.
