Senior Iranian official: Takfiri forces prevent blossoming of Islamic civilization

Committing criminal acts, Takfiri forces inflict severe blows against Islam and prevent the materializing of the modern Islamic civilization, Adviser of Leader of Islamic Revolution in International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati said here Monday.

“Unfortunately a new wave of discord moves and criminal acts of Takfiri trends in the region aimed at distancing the nations from the authentic version of Mohammedan Islam has been established and is busy plotting at the service of the enemies to prevent the establishment of a modern Islamic civilization,” said Velayati, addressing the closing ceremony of an international conference on the issue.

He said that the Takfiri mentality has an old background in the Islamic world, but today with the outspreading of the extremist and aggressive mentalities, the Takfiri forces have become a greater menace for the Muslims threatening their lives, their thoughts, and their wealth of a dynamic and bright Islamic civilization.

“Islam is a religion for the whole mankind and despite its emphasis on Islamic unity, the Takfiri forces, based on their dogmatic interpretations consider the majority of Muslims as infidels and are after damaging the Islamic grandeur,” he said.

Velayati considered the Takfiri groups as puppets of the western intelligence services that by resorting to criminal acts contribute to materializing the objectives of the global oppression.

The Global Congress to Survey the Takfiri Trends from the Viewpoint of Islamic Scholars which started in the presence of 315 prominent foreign guests in Qom on Sunday ended on Monday evening after praising the top contributions to the congress.
