Afghan parliament member Nazir Ahmad on Monday urged unity among Muslim nations and warned against enemies' divisive plots.
He made the remarks in the ongoing 'International Congress on Extremist and Takfiri Movements in the Islamic Scholars’ View' held in Qom.
Takfiri groups have paved the way for sacrilege of Muslim Ummah by non-Muslims, he added.
The senior MP noted that Takfiri groups have been created to make discord among Muslims.
The congress tries to gather Islamic scholars and clerics to discuss the controversial issues of Takfiri movements and the extremism and terror that they have has caused throughout the world.
The World Congress on Extremist and Takfiri Movements in the Islamic Scholars’ View, has been scheduled for November 23-24, started its work on Sunday. More than 600 Muslim scholars from over 80 countries attended the two-day event and, according to reports, 40 percent of the participants are Shia and 60 percent of them are Sunni. Iran’s Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi is the chairman of the congress, and Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani is the gathering’s scientific secretary.
