According to Astan Quds Razavi news website, Championship Cup of the 20th round of 2011 World Taekwondo Championship Games was dedicated to Astan Quds Razavi museum during a ceremony held on Tuesday morning in the center of conferences and exhibitions of Astan Quds Razavi attended by head of taekwondo federation and members of national taekwondo team as well as a number of authorities of Astan Quds Razavi.
Head of Iran taekwondo federation asserted, “This cup was being preserved for two years in the taekwondo federation as a deposit and today it reached its real stance thanks to God’s grace and Imam Reza’s favor.”
Noting that it is for years that Iran taekwondo is wining honor, Puladgar said, “In terms of importance, taekwondo contest is internationally divided into Olympics games, big world competitions, world cup, and continental competitions.”
He described the world competitions the most important taekwondo competitions after Olympics and said, “Iranian taekwondo has managed to win championship titles in the world competitions since 1999.”
Head of taekwondo federation viewed the favor of the Infallible Imams (A.S.) as one of the main causes of Iranian taekwondo successes and referring to 2000 Taekwondo World Cup he said, “2000 Lyons, France Taekwondo World Cup was coincident with Tasua and Ashura of Imam Hussein (A.S.) and the Iranian Shi’ite youth went to the competition field with invocation of ‘ya Hussein’ and ‘ya Ab al-Fazl’ and the result was that they won the championship with the help of their holiness.”
“Championship Cup of the 20th round of 2011 World Taekwondo Championship Games is regarded as the most valuable Iranian Taekwondo Championship stance”, he added.
“This title and championship cup is so valuable that during the two years that it was being preserved in the taekwondo federation I felt this symbol of championship and authority of Iranian youth has been restricted and enclosed”, he continued.
