Swiss professor describes his book on Imam Reza (AS)

The Swiss Professor Patrick Ringgenberg, an scholar in theology and aesthetics said at the Imam Reza Festival that his book is on the holy shrine of Imam Reza and a profound need for these books is felt in the West.

The press conference of the foreign guests of the 12th International Cultural Artistic Festival of Imam Reza (AS) was held today as Ringgenberg and made his remarks as follows:

“I am a researcher at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland and have considered the Islamic art in Iran from 10 years ago. I have published two books on Imam Reza’s Shrine and the city of Mashhad, because I realized that that this shrine is an exceptional religious place as well as a cultural historical and spiritual center in the Islamic world,” he said.

In my book, I tried to portray the holy Imam Reza’s Shrine to be more considered by the art hostirians. I hope more researches be carried out on the Razvi shrine and the history of pilgrimage by the Western scholars.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the scholar said: "I hope to have played a small role in introducing the great Razavi heritage to the world

In his earlier visit to Iran Professor Ringgenberg asserted that the task of changing negative pictures illustrated of Islam and Iran can be accomplished through good translations and financial support for cultural activities related to this issue:

“Four years ago I authored a book on the Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) which included beautiful photos, but when I proposed it to some French publishing institutes they all rejected the work, however I believe it has its own audience in French, but it is difficult to persuade the French publishers to print and distribute them,” Ringgenberg said earlier.
