An anti-political-naturalization campaign has been launched on Twitter to highlight the catastrophic effects of the political naturalization project on the social, economic and political life in Bahrain. The project, which the regime has been working on for over a decade aims to change the demographic nature of Bahrain.
The opposition parties in Bahrain announced that press conferences and other popular events are to be held to reveal the destructive effects of such vindictive project against the indigenous people of Bahrain.
The campaign has been launched after the revelation of alarming numbers of naturalized foreigners in Bahrain. According to official numbers, 95,000 foreigners from different nationalities have been granted the Bahraini nationality in an attempt to replace the indigenous people of Bahrain, both, Sunni and Shi’ites. The opposition pointed out that this number has added 17.3% to Bahrain’s population, again, based on the numbers published by the State-run Central Information Organization. However, the opposition believes that these figures are less than the actual numbers related to population growth.
In a press conference on Sunday, the political assistant of Al-Wefaq Secretary-General, Khalil Almarzooq, said the naturalization project committed against the indigenous people of Bahrain will make the people of Bahrain a minority in their own country in the coming two decades, pleading to the UN and the GCC to consider this project a serious threat to regional security.
