Allama Sajid Naqvi, Chief of Shia Ulema Council, has asked the government to adopt a reconciliatory approach to deal with the Freedom and Revolution Marches because their demands are genuine.
“Pakistan needs revolutionary changes and reforms hence government seriously ponders upon the legitimate demands of the Opposition parties’ protestors,” he exhorted while exchanging views with delegations who met him at his residence.
Eminent Shia leader said that rule of law was the only way to run country’s affairs and lack of rule of law engendered present crisis hence government should not choose collision course. He advised the government to demonstrate flexibility.
Despite his tilt to the opponents of the government, he insisted, reconciliation through talks was the best feasible option. He asked the leadership of Freedom March and Inqilab March to beware of the consequences of future crisis because their hardened position and search for unconstitutional way to get their demands met would pave way for other undesirable elements to follow this path and that would be deleterious for entire nation.
