Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirzai:

Helping the Defenseless People of Gaza is a Public Duty

Noting that the Gaza war has relatively subsided, Ayatollah Makarem Shirzai asserted, “All Muslims are obliged to help the injured people of Gaza and restore their ruins.”

Noting that the Gaza war has relatively subsided, Ayatollah Makarem Shirzai asserted, “All Muslims are obliged to help the injured people of Gaza and restore their ruins.”

This Shi’ite religious authority in his lecture among the pilgrims of the holy shrine noted that the world toady doesn’t value the right word but is seeking only the power, and added, “The memory of this war should be kept alive so that the ugly face of the world imperialism and Israel could not be hidden for anyone and get forgotten.”

Noting that the group of ‘Arab supporters’ is nothing but vain, he remarked, “Human Rights Declaration seems good and desirable when considered but in practice, it turn out to be vain and false; wars in Gaza, Iraq, and Afghanistan can prove the vainness of Human Rights Declaration.”

Referring to a tradition from Imam Reza (A.S.), Ayatollah Makarem Shirzai stated, “We are on the verge of Imam Reza’s (A.S.) birthday anniversary and the best gift for the faithful is stating valuable statements of his holiness.”

Ayatollah Makarem Shirzai reiterated, “According to a tradition from Imam Reza (A.S.) stated in the Bihar al-Anwar of Allameh Majlesi, Imam Reza (A.S.) has discussed on three main religious instructions.”

“The highest grade of slavery is absolute submission before God and before the religious instructions either approved by the reason or not”, he continued.

“Faithful people have discovered the philosophy of some injunctions such as prayer, Hajj, Jihad, etc. by the help of the Ahl al-Bayt’s (A.S.) words while the philosophies of some other injunctions have been reveled over the time through scientific developments”, he expressed.

“For example, the reason of prohibition of drinking blood has not been stated in the religion but today, scientists maintain that blood is a center of kinds of viruses and diseases and drinking blood is very harmful for human”, he continued.

Noting that the reason of some injunctions has not been stated and man has not found out the reason either, he remarked, “By absolute submission before God, Imam Reza (A.S.) meant all the divine injunctions either those whose philosophies are learnt or are not learnt.”

The teacher of Kharij Fiqh and Usul of Qum Seminary added, “Imam Reza (A.S.) in the tradition also recommends the faithful that they correct themselves so that their affairs of both the worlds could be cottected as well.”

“Muslims recite ‘we worship only You and seek guidance only from You’ in their prayer and if they express it honestly, all their worldly and heavenly affairs will be settled up; so all Muslims are obliged to seek honesty and truth”, he advised the faithful.

At the end, noting that Islam does not call for poverty, he reiterated, “Islamic states should be rich with no poor or unemployed person therein; Islam encourages scientific, spiritual, and material progress as according to Imam Reza (A.S.), the world is the introduction of the Hereafter.”

It is notable that the evening prayers were performed by Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi’s leading in the Razavi Jame’ courtyard.
