The Bahraini regime has taken a decision to immediately ban a number of clerics from preachingFriday sermons in mosques. The clerics were summoned by the Bahraini Interior Ministry.

A police station informed Sayed Kamil Alhashimi, Sheikh Adel Alhamad and Sheikh Mohammed Sanad, who has been active in the demolished mosques issue, of the regime’s decision against them.

Al Wefaq National Islamic Society in Bahrain said the regime is practicing the ugliest forms of restriction of freedom of belief and opinion, especially against national figures and associations.

Al Wefaq considers this measure as part of the systematic targeting to run-away from the political demands raised by the people for a democratic system in place of the totalitarian rule.

Al Wefaq stresses that any attempt to target religious rights of any sect is absolutely unacceptable and the misuse of power and law is a condemned action.
