The Head of Ahlulbayt World Assembly Ayatollah Muhammad Akhtari, paid condolence visit to the Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky in his residence in Gyallesu, Zaria on Thursday the 7th of Aug. 2014.
The Ayatollah, accompanied by Iranian Envoy to Nigeria Dr Saeed Koozech and other officials, extended condolence message to the Leader on behalf of leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.
After Zuhraini prayers led by the Ayatollah, he delivered a short address where he extended the condolence message on behalf of Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei. He also spoke on the incident of Quds day Procession where 33 people among them the 3 sons of sheikh Zakzaky were killed by Nigerian soldiers on that day.
He commended the courage, foresight and the tolerance displayed by Sheikh Zakzaky for taking a right step despite the difficulty of the situation.
He also prayed for the souls of the martyrs while emphasizing that their blood that was shed shall never go unrewarded. On the families of the martyrs, he prayed for Allah to give them the fortitude to bear the loss adding that the martyrs’ families and relatives shall have the shares of the rewards of martyrdom.
In his response, Sheikh Zakzaky expressed delight with the visit of the great Ayatollah who even led prayers in his house. He added the incident has made the Ummah become more united than before the event to the extent the incident has fostered unity in the Ummah.
At the end Ayatollah Akhtari visited some of the families of the martyrs and some of the injured.
