Int’l Quds Day to Be Held in Thailand

“Palestine, The First Agenda of Muslim Ummah; Symbol of Islamic Awakening and Resistance” is the title of a forum planned to be held by Iranian Cultural Center in Thailand on the occasion of International Quds Day.

The program will be addressed by Hojat-ol-Islam Javad Mazlumi, representative of the Supreme Leader, Najjarianzadeh, Iranian cultural attaché in Thailand and a number of Muslim intellectuals of the region.

Over 500 Muslims of the country are expected to participate at the program to be held on Friday, July 25.

A photo and poster exhibition on Palestine and Quds, an exhibition of artworks, calligraphy and illumination, and a workshop by Iranian artist will be held on the sidelines of the forum.

An Iranian Tawasheeh group called “Salam” will also perform some programs at the forum.

Muslims in Thailand will also hold rallies along with followers of other faiths to support the oppressed Palestinian people.

Besides Bangkok, other cities of Thailand such as Nakhon Si Thammarat, Satun and Trang, will also host the rallies on the International Quds Day.

A book titled “Quds and Palestine in sayings of Imam Khomeini (RA) and Imam Khamenei” translated and published in Thai language in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center will be unveiled in a forum on the occasion.

Dusit Thani Hotel in Bangkok will host the program to be attended by Muslim representatives of different countries, intellectuals and academic figures and imams of mosques.

International Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan that was initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and oppose Zionism as well as Israel's control of Jerusalem.

Quds Day is also held in several countries in the Arab and Muslim world with protests against Israel.
