Parliament speakers gather in Tehran in response to Gaza tragedy + Pics

Iran hosts a gathering of top parliamentarians to discuss the Israeli cruel attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip, which has been described as a war crime by certain international bodies.

Iran hosts a gathering of top parliamentarians to discuss the Israeli cruel attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip, which has been described as a war crime by certain international bodies.

The purpose behind the conference is to bring the world’s attention to the crimes being committed in Gaza and help bring an end to the tragedy.

The parliament speakers of Sudan, Mali, Turkey, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq and Palestine are expected to attend the conference. MPs from Lebanon, Kuwait and some other Islamic countries are scheduled to participate.

Parliamentary delegations from Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Tunisia, Malaysia and Indonesia plan to be at the meeting.

The Omani deputy parliament speaker is due to attend the conference as well.

The conference is arranged by the troika of the Parliamentary Union of Islamic Countries (PUIC).

The conference opens under the title of “The Meeting of PUIC Troika Plus on Situation in Palestine and Aggression in Gaza”.

Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, who is the current head of the parliamentary bloc, will chair the meeting.

During the meeting the current situation in Palestine in general and the Gaza Strip in particular will be discussed and a statement will be issued at the end of it.
