Kumail and Tawassul Supplications Published in Luganda language

Iranian Cultural Center in Uganda has published a Luganda translation of “Du’a Komail” and “Du’a Tawassul” for the first time.

Musa Mucanza Sowedi has translated the supplications into Luganda language during 6 months.

The translations of the entire two supplications were published in the holy month of Ramadan in 2000 copies.

Musa Sowedi is an educated of seminary schools in Jinja and Kenya. He is a Shia activist in cultural and religious affairs.

The Ganda language, or Luganda, is the major language of Uganda, spoken by over sixteen million Ganda and other people mainly in Southern Uganda, including the capital Kampala.

With about seven million first-language-speakers in the Buganda region and about ten million others with a working knowledge, it is the most widely spoken Ugandan language, and as second language it follows English and precedes Swahili.

According to the National Census 2002 Islam is practiced by 12.1 percent of the population.
