Al Wefaq National Islamic Society has delivered a statement to the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs about the lawsuit the latter has filed against the Society. In the statement, Al Wefaq highlighted that its general assemblies’ procedures fully abided by the law and its statute.
Al Wefaq also mentioned that it has not received any official notification of the issue, in which the Ministry claims that 4 of its general assemblies violated the law. The complaint was published in the press and the governmental news agency.
Al Wefaq commented on the claims put forward by the Ministry, at the time, explaining that these claims were based on a deviant explanation of the law. Following this clarification, the Society did not receive any further response from the Ministry.
