Members of the Shiite Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky have on Sunday conducted a grand birthday of Imam Hasan Mujtaba (A), grandson of the Holy Prophet and son of Ameerul Mu’mineen Ali Bin Abi Talib and Sayyedha Fatima al- Zahra (A).

Imam Hasan (A), who is the second Imam from the Holy Prophet’s Infallible Progeny, was borne on 15th Ramadan

Speaking at the occasion, Ameer of Kudan Malam Junaidu Muhammad, said Imam Hasan (A) was borne on 15th Ramadan, three years after Hijra, in the city of Madinah and died at the age of 47.

Commenting on his exemplary virtues, Malam Juaidu explained that, Imam Hasan (A) was a point of reference on good conduct such as patience, forgiveness, pity, piety, bravely and all associated virtues.

He further explained that contrary to widespread fabrications that Imam Hasan married over 100 wives, “this was the claim of his enemies. The Imam (AS) married only three wives namely: Kaula Bint Manzur, Hindu Bint Abdulrahman and Ja’ada Bint Ash’as. In another place, he was reported to have married four wives”.

Malam Junaidu also explained the rationale behind the treaty between Imam Hasan (A) and Mu’awiyyah, which hes pointed out was to guard against spilling of innocent blood of people by Mu’awiyyah who insisted on holding firm to the Caliphate at every cost. “The Imam had to enter into the accord for the safety of the Ummah, but Mu’awiyyah breached all aspects of the accord”, he added.

As part of the occasion, food items were distributed free to the needy to mark the day.

Highlight of the occasion was the cutting of cake and songs of praise by the poets of the Islamic Movement.
