Everything About ISIL Screams "CIA", Says American Analyst

With its roots in Chechnya, not the Middle East, everything about the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or alternatively ISIS) screams "CIA", said an American political analyst.

Speaking to IQNA, Gordon Duff* said that the ISIL serves Israel and that it is fighting the war the US had been blackmailed into fighting for Israel after 9/11.

Following are excerpts from the interview:

Q: What are the origins of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)?

A: There has been attempt to trace the origins back to 2003 or 2004. There are a dozen different stories, each more absurd than the last. The real evidence is their claims to be followers of Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

The real bin Laden, after denying involvement in 9/11 died in 2001. At that time it was widely reported and fully accepted in the Islamic world. However, Western intelligence agencies, for whom bin Laden had been affiliated, wanted to keep him alive. ISIL, as it was called at the time, continued that childish narrative, that and the imaginary "bug-a-boo" monster of Al Qaeda, the Islamic terror group in love with Israel.

There is nothing Islamic about ISIS. They are Baathists, Marxists, Zionists and profiteers.

Q: What countries have been supporting the terrorist group and why?

A: ISIS is fighting the war the US had been blackmailed into fighting for Israel after 9/11. Documents released from Russian intelligence only a month ago, classified US investigations on 9/11 indicate it was an Israeli attack, a demonstration only of what they were capable of unless the US proceeded with destruction of a number of Islamic states, a number much higher than previously stated by General Wesley Clark.

ISIS certainly serves Israel. Its claims of possession of nuclear weapons and its threats against Israel are telling as ISIS has, in its 10 year history, only attacked Israel’s perceived enemies.

One could broadly state that the US and Saudi Arabia back ISIS. On the US side, ISIS seems to be a construct of Bush interventionism, part of a "long game" that would provide them a surrogate army of "controlled opposition," in reality why Al Qaeda was invented in the first place.

Q: What does the current crisis in Iraq mean for the region at large?

A: With Russian intervention in Iraq, the plans behind ISIS are derailed. With its roots in Chechnya, not the Middle East, everything about ISIS screams "CIA." The chase across Iraq, not seeking political power as much as moving to split off Kurdistan and secure the Kirkuk pipeline and oil fields, betrays the fact that Iraq’s oil is still a target.

Toward that end, ISIS is likely to be covertly established as a permanent fixture, an "enemy of convenience," to threaten and weaken governments in the region with an "in place" surrogate CIA army that lives off a subjugated slave population.

Q: Who benefits from the current crisis?

A: Israel is supposed to win, them and their political friends in the Republican Party in the US. If the 2016 American election puts a Tea Party candidate in the White House, the US will self-destruct in a flurry of wars across Africa and Asia. An America divided, bankrupt and discredited is Israel’s goal. The ISIS move into Iraq is a preliminary step toward achieving that goal, one aided by treasonous Americans and Saudi cash.

Q: How do you see the future of Iraq? Will the plot to break up the country succeed?

A: Iraq will have to establish a reformed government with broader autonomy for Sunni regions. However, Iraq, if broken up, cannot survive economically. Though there are political divisions between Sunni and Shiite Iraq, economically the codependence is very strong and will be the telling factor.

Q: What needs to be done to prevent the spread of terrorism from Iraq to other regions?

A: The Middle East will never be safe until Saudi Arabia and Israel are isolated.

Q: How is the situation in Iraq related to the Syrian crisis?

A: Overtly , the ISIS hit Iraq because they found it a soft target. They had significant support with some Sunni leaders and sectors within the Iraqi military. Their only issue was timing.

However, Syria’s Assad set their timetable. The Syrian election was a success, Syria is surviving. What is key is the move only days ago by Russia. Once they put their "cards on the table," the US is forced to "up the ante." Now both the US and Russia are invested in the survival of Iraq, something that can’t be done without a settlement in Syria.

Q: Can the world tackle extremism before it gets too late?

A: The world is unaware that the real extremists are mostly in the United States. Until that is understood, nothing will be done.
