Opposition parties: Bahrain needs a national rescue solution

The opposition parties called for an urgent national provision to stop the country from further deteriorations on all humanitarian, security, economic, political and international-relations levels.

The National Opposition Parties in Bahrain staged a mass demonstration on Friday June 20th, 2014. The opposition parties called for an urgent national provision to stop the country from further deteriorations on all humanitarian, security, economic, political and international-relations levels.

In the final communiqué, the opposition parties stressed that the people must own their sovereignty in order to achieve an inclusive solution.  “It is time for the people to be the source of all powers and reclaim all rights that have been confiscated by the dictatorship”, the opposition parties said.

“The regime lacks the people’s legitimacy as it relies on the iron fist to oppress and repress the people blocking all the ways to political solution”, they added stressing that a national road map is based on the people’s legitimacy to produce a genuine political solution to end the crisis in Bahrain.

They added that the regime in Bahrain is using the judiciary system as a tool to punish dissidents to stop them from calling for a democratic transition in the country.

“The sham trial of Khalil Al-Marzooq, who advocates peace and non-violence, will show the world how the regime is employing all its tools to punish dissidents”, the statement said.

In the final communiqué, the opposition parties have strongly denounced the crime of naturalizing huge numbers of foreigners to change the demographic structure in Bahrain.

The opposition parties also denounced keeping the corpse of Al-Abbar in custody for more than 60 days now. Al-Abbar was shot to the head during a protests and died after entering a coma, the regime still refuses to mention the cause of death in the death report.

Finally, the opposition parties called on the international community to take action to stop the atrocious human rights violations that are perpetrated by the regime. Bahrain has been condemned by 47 State-members in the UN Human Rights Council for the ongoing abuses and violations.

“By relying on the security option, the regime has failed to tackle the situation, instead, it has perpetrated many killings, arrests and violations against religious freedoms in Bahrain”, the opposition parties pointed out.
