Regime forces in Bahrain carried-out “terror-inspiring” home raids Saturday 14th June, in the village of Diraz, west to the capital Manama. The forces arrested 8 citizens, some of whom are students.
Around 20 houses were raided, the forces, who were backed by masked men, broke open doors and vandalized the belongings of the households. The women were not given a chance to cover their hair.
Al Wefaq National Islamic Society said such raids are carried out in a systematic and illegal manner, while families expressed serious concern over the safety of their sons who were arrested.
Al Wefaq called on the UN Human Rights Council to follow the ongoing human rights violations in Bahrain and to take action to end the sufferings of the Bahraini people from the official and systematic terror.
Al Wefaq pointed out that the ongoing human rights violations are perpetrated against the people to silence the wide demands movement for democracy and justice in the country.
