The first international festival known as “the Great Prophet Grand Prize”; The first event of its kind is dedicated to introducing and supporting best cinematic and literary works in defense of Prophet of Islam Muhammad (PBUH).
Concurrent with the festival an international conference on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Cinema and World Literature has been organized by the Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly.
The organizers say the festival is indeed a response to the wave of sacrilegious acts against the prophet of Islam and Muslim sanctities.
The festival has been held in such categories as short film, short documentary film, animation, screenplay and book written in English on the lifestyle and traditions of the prophet of Islamic and responding to the existing doubts in western societies.
In general, almost 900 works from 14 countries were sent to the secretariat in defense of Prophet Muhammad.
The event seeks to make use of the capacity of international scholars and artists to fight against films and other artistic productions which insult Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
During the festival practical ways to enlighten people particularly in the West about the life of the Prophet of Islam, his ideals and teachings, as well as to encourage authors, scholars and filmmakers to highlight the personality of the Prophet (PBUH) in their works.
