DI KHAN: Two officials of the Pakistan Post were killed and as many injured when terrorists of Sipah-e-Sahabah attacked a van of the General Post Office (GPO) on Deenpur Road falling in the limits of the Cantonment Police Station, police officials said on Wednesday.
The officials said two motorcyclists intercepted the van and opened fire, killing head postman Gulzar Hussain who was a Shia Muslim and security guard Javed Shah, a Sunni Muslim, on the spot. Another security guard Saleem Haider and driver Niamatullah sustained injuries in the attack.
The robbers also took away the uncounted cash present in the van, they said, adding the bodies and injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital. Sources said the GPO officials were on duty of cash collection from various post offices in the adjoining villages. The police registered a case.
