For the second consecutive day, the regime in Bahrain bans a peaceful assembly, supposed to be held on Sunday, by the National Democratic Opposition Parties.
Al Wefaq National Islamic Society stressed that the ban on freedom of expression is a good reason to consider the regime tyrannical because this is a fundamental international right.
Al Wefaq said the ban is illegal and comes within the authority’s tightening on freedom of opinion and expression. The measure reflects a systematic war on freedom of expression, Al Wefaq added.
“Banning citizens from exercising right to expression contradicts international conventions and reflects the size of autocracy,” Al Wefaq stated, “The people of Bahrain are calling for democratic transition to a State of justice and equality”.
International parties and NGOs must follow the tightening on freedoms and the repression of dissent.
