A Shia source of emulation regretted that there is discord among Muslims, saying that disunity serves the interests of the Zionist regime of Israel.
Speaking Monday in a meeting with students of the Islamic Sects Specialized Center, Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi said the Islamic world is suffering from discord and disunity.
“If we look at (the situation) in Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan today, we’ll see that Muslims have been pitted against one another due to the plots hatched by the world arrogance.”
He urged for unity and accord among Muslims of all sects and warned that only the enemies of Islam benefit from divergence among Muslims.
The leading cleric further underlined that the Islamic Awakening should be really materialized in the Islamic countries.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi called for reflection on the teachings of the Holy Quran, saying that the more one contemplates the Quranic verses, the more he gains.
