During dawn raids on Monday 14th April, Bahrain regime forces arrested 12 citizens from the area of Aali, located in the centre of Bahrain. The arrests took place after raids on dozens of homes in the area, terrorizing residents and without giving any warrant. Seven others were arrested from the street in the area of Musala, west of the capital Manama.
These arrests come within a series of procedures and violations carried out against citizens. On Sunday 13th April, six children were sentenced to four days in custody pending an investigation, following their arrest from a checkpoint. They act as a sample of the dozens of children who are behind bars in Bahrain.
Alwefaq National Islamic Society said. ”These raids, arrests, and violations, that the authorities are committing against the citizens, will only complicate the situation. The people’s demands and determination for democracy will remain.”
Sayed Hadi Al-Mousawi, head of Liberties and Human rights Department at Alwefaq, in a press conference, said that 228 houses had been raided during March 2014. He mentioned that doors were broken and houses were entered by force. Private property was damaged and some citizens complained that their personal belongings were confiscated without showing any order of confiscation.
