Today, not only scholars but lay men and women are opening the Quran to discover its message for themselves. The Melbourne Quran Seminar is a monthly forum for those interested in exploring various aspects of Quran interpretation, the center’s website wrote.
The forum aims to provide serious students of the Quran with the opportunity to raise interesting questions and to hear the views of others who have undertaken an intense study of the Quran.
The general theme chosen for 2014 is “Issues in Quran Interpretation Today”.
A paper of no more than 40 minutes will be followed by a prepared response of 10 minutes. Participants will then be invited to join a general discussion on the topic of the paper.
Efforts are being made to enable scholars living overseas to participate through electronic media.
