(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The National Democratic Opposition Parties in Bahrain said in a statement today, “The regime’s cosmetic solutions and widening repression will only make the people more resolute to continue demanding real democracy”. The statement followed a huge march west of Manama today, and which called for equal citizenship and an end to the ongoing attempts to alter the demographic structure of Bahraini society.“The international community is knowledgeable of the true reason behind the crisis in Bahrain. It is aware that the conflict is between a minority that is dominating over power, wealth and decision, and the political majority that is demanding a democratic state based on justice, equality and freedom,” the opposition parties said. The opposition said the ruling minority is draining the public funds and state budget in the protection of its domination and tyranny. The opposition parties stressed that the regime is not able to coexist with the people and imports foreign forces to fight the legitimate demands of the people. This is clear by the revealed evidence of the existence of Jordanian forces on Bahraini soil. These forces are working side by side with thousands of Pakistani officers to repress the people’s peaceful movement. This is on top of the provocative and illegitimate intervention of the GCC forces in Bahrain’s internal affairs in 2011.The regime’s war against the people is blatant by its demolishment of 38 mosques and the ongoing vandalism of religious places. The historic mosque of Sa’Sa bin Sohan has been repeatedly vandalized. A number of the demolished mosques have been relocated while the lands of other mosques have been turned into private property of individuals close to the royal family. The opposition parties stressed that the people of Bahrain, like all other nations, must enjoy right to social justice, equality, freedom and all humanitarian rights guaranteed by the International Bill. The people of Bahrain have paid a high price to achieve their legitimate demands on the path to democracy. The Bahrainis have sacrificed more than 150 martyrs, around 3000 prisoners and hundreds of wounded who are deprived from medical care and treatment. Detainees remain deprived of fundamental rights such as to medical treatment, access to lawyers and fair trials. However, the regime continues to ignore national and international calls for a political resolution to the crisis.Manama – April 4th, 2014The National Democratic Opposition Parties- ManamaAl-Wefaq National Islamic Society (Wefaq)National Democratic Action Society (Waad)National Democratic Gathering Society (Qawmi)Unitary Assemblage Society (Wahdawy)Ekhaa National Society (Ekhaa)/129
