Bahrain: Salman and Daihi win SG and Deputy SG for coming 4 years

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The elections commitee in al Wefaq National Islamic Society announced Sheikh Ali Salman and Sheikh Hussain al Daihi have won the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General posts in al Wefaq for the coming 4 years, respectively.The committee said potential candidates had from January 11th to 24th, before an additional period, to put themselves forward for the election of Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General, as well as 5 Arbitration Board members and 15 members for al Wefaq’s part-Shura council elections. A total of 43 members have put themselves forward for differing posts, while nobody ran for SG and Deputy SG other than Salman and Daihi.Sheikh Jassim al Khayat, Sayed Hashim al Musawi, Sayed Abdul Mohsin al Musawi, Abbas Mahfoodh and Ibrahim Sarhan won the elections for the Arbitration Board. While 29 members will be running for the Shura elections that will take place in al Wefaq’s General Conference on March 28th./129
