Top leaders of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslmeen (MWM), Allama Mukhtar Imami, Secretary General, Aalama Karbalai and 60 other Shia activists have been arrested ahead of a scheduled conference in Khairpur yesterday on Sunday.

He said that banned terrorist outfit is allowed to disseminate their ideology of fanaticism and terrorism through hate-speeches but peaceful and patriots are denied their democratic right.Countrywide sit-in begin, police tear gas shelling to disperse anti-Taliban protestors Shia Muslims began countrywide-sit-in to protest against the Khairpur administration and Sindh Government for not allowing an anti-Taliban Labbaik Ya Rasoolullah Conference and arrest of Allama Mukhtar Imami and other Shiites on Saturday.On early Saturday night main sit-in protest was being staged on man Khairpur-Sukkur Road in Babbar-Lo area, a stronghold of Shiites in district Khairpur. Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Sahibzada Hamid Raza of Sunni Ittehad Council, Senator Faisal Raza Abedi and other leaders were leading the protestors. They have offered Maghrib and Isha prayers at the venue of sit-inLatest reports had it that police baton-charged and sprayed the protestors with tear gas shelling to disperse them but they were highly charged and raising slogans against terrorists and pro-terrorist Sindh Government. Similar police action was reported from Shia majority area of Hingorja of district Khairpur but Shia youths refused to end their protest.In Karachi, supporters of the MWM staged a rally at Numaish Chowrangi to reach CM House to stage sit-in there but police blocked them hence they have staged sit-in there. The protestors offered Maghrib and Isha prayers at the venue of the protest.Sit-in protest continued in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan. In Talhar, Matli, Qazi Ahmed and other parts of Sindh province, protest continued till the filing of this report. The supporters were preparing to come out on main streets to stage sit-in across the country on a call from Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari.Shia Action Committee has endorsed the call of protest and their supporters too joined the protestors in Karachi. /149
