10,000 Quran Copies Gifted to Gabon

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The king of Morocco on Friday donated 10,000 copies of the Holy Quran to Gabon.The copies have been given by King Mohammed VI of Morocco to be distributed in mosques across the Republic of Gabon, lematin wesbite reported.The Moroccan king led Friday prayers in the Hassan II Mosque in Gabon’s capital of Libreville yesterday.The Quran copies have been printed in the “Warsh an Nafi” style.The Gabonese Republic is a sovereign state on the west coast of Central Africa. It has an area of nearly 270,000 square kilometers and its population is estimated at 1.5 million people. Approximately 12 percent of the population of Gabon practice Islam, of which 80 to 90 percent are foreigners.Islamic, Catholic, and Protestant denominations operate primary and secondary schools in Gabon./129
