Al Wefaq: no social justice in Bahrain

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - On the World Day of Social Justice, Al Wefaq National Islamic Society in Bahrain said, “Bahrain is undergoing the worst social justice conditions due to the authority’s totalitarian rule that is dominating all aspects of life”. It added, “The authority in Bahrain deals with the natural rights of its people as if it is giving them donations”.Social Justice in Bahrain is absent on all levels; humanitarian, social, political and economic.Al Wefaq stated that the authority is depriving people from education and jobs amidst wide discrimination, corruption, looting of public funds and unfair distribution of wealth. This is all besides the political marginalization of the people.“The people of Bahrain have long struggled to build a state of social justice, however, the authority continues to face social justice seekers with tyranny, dictatorship and spread of hatred in the society. Over the past 3 years, the Bahraini people have made huge sacrifices on the path to social justice and dignity, tens have been killed and thousands arrested and prison doors are still open for anybody calling for social justice in Bahrain”, Al Wefaq said.Al Wefaq stressed that the international community has a moral and legal responsibility to help find an inclusive democratic political system in Bahrain based on the will of its people and able to achieve social justice and equal citizenship./129
