Bahrain through the biggest crisis in its history

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The National Democratic Opposition Forces in Bahrain said, on the anniversary of the 14th February uprising that a majority of people in Bahrain started in 2011, that Bahrain is suffering from the biggest crisis in its history where Bahrainis are demanding a national democratic country and where the people become the source of authorities.“The political, economic, social and developmental paralysis in Bahrain needs an inclusive political process to rebuild the country for it to be in the ranks of respectable countries that are based on the values of citizenship, justice and equality and where the citizen is not marginalized or has no real value,” the opposition stated. The National Opposition parties stressed that Bahrain needs an open and civilized project in order to reach a national civilized and democratic state that relies on citizenship in the organization of rights and duties. In conclusion of their statement, the Opposition Forces emphasized that building a true state can only be through a series of foundations that will give citizens full civil and political rights in electing their own government and its legislature, which must have full control and legislative powers. This only comes through a fair and just electoral process where each citizen’s vote is counted for one. The Judiciary should be independent, fair and impartial and security should be available to all on the principle that security is for homeland and citizens. They further pointed out that these demands are legitimate demands that the people of Bahrain have suffered and sacrificed their lives in order to gain and in order to build a country that preserves the rights and dignity of its people. The people of Bahrain have not stopped in their march to democracy since 14th February 2011 and decades earlier. They have sacrificed thousands of martyrs and prisoners, thousands injured and dismissed from their jobs and there are still tens of thousands of families suffering for a future where everyone’s dignity is preserved on the base of equal citizenship in everything. The National Democratic Opposition Parties14.2.2014/129
