(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  Iranian Cultural Center in Indonesia will hold a conference titled “Quran, Pillar of Unity” in Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital city.

The organization of the conference was discussed at a meeting with the participation of Iranian ambassador to Indonesia, Iranian cultural attaché in the country and the secretary general of Muhammadiyah Organization.

Speaking at the meeting, the Iranian representatives asked for the cooperation of the Islamic organization in holding the conference.

Abdul Mu’ti, the Indonesian official, said that it is an honor for the organization to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed hope that relations with Iranian cultural and religious institutes will be promoted in the near future.

Ebrahimian, the Iranian cultural attaché also said that Iran is ready to cooperate with the great organization in religious, scientific and academic fields.

Muhammadiyah is an Islamic organization in Indonesia. The organization was founded in 1912 by Ahmad Dahlan in the city of Yogyakarta as a reformist socio-religious movement, advocating ijtihad - individual interpretation of Qur'an and sunnah.

At the moment, Muhammadiyah is the second largest Islamic organization in Indonesia with 29 million members.[1] Although Muhammadiyah leaders and members are often actively involved in shaping the politics in Indonesia, Muhammadiyah is not a political party. It has devoted itself to social and educational activities.
