Gunmen kill Two Shia Muslims in Karachi (GRAPHIC)

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) A notable Shia Muslim Syed Wajahat Hussain Naqvi was killed while his brother and security guard wounded in a low-intensity bomb attack at University Road, Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Tuesday.According to witnesses, at least two motorcyclists threw explosive material at the victim’s car near NED University Road and escaped from the scene.As a result, the Shia leader namely Wajahat Hussain Naqvi was killed on the spot while his brother and security guard sustained serious wounds. The driver of the victim shifted the victims to the nearest private hospital. Police officials said the victim was going somewhere when two motorcyclists targeted them with grenade.The victim was the chairman of Shia Maatmi Anjuman-e-Makhdooma Konain and also a branch manager of a private bank. Police have so far been to ascertain the motive behind the attack. It is pertinent to mention here that Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leader Maulana Deedar Ali Jalbani and his guard were killed at the same place a couple of days ago.Syed Wajahat Hussain Naqvi is survived by a widow, a 6-year-old son and a 10-year-old son.Another Shia Muslim shot martyred near Gulbahar Kazmain Imambargh area of Karachi17 years old Syed Qalb-e-Abbas Kazmi was sitting on a shop, when the terrorists of ASWJ-TTP attacked on him and left him injured, he was rushed to hospital where he breathed last.Pro-Taliban groups have launched a violent campaign against Shia Muslims and several Shia religious gatherings have been targeted in different parts of the country over the past few months.Shia Muslims in Pakistan say the government must take decisive action against the forces involved in the targeted killings, accusing Islamabad of failing to provide security for the Muslim community.The killing of Shias has caused an international outrage, with rights groups and regional countries expressing concern over the ongoing deadly violence.Shias make up about a third of Pakistan’s population of over 180 million./149
