Prominent Shia Cleric Arrested by Al Khalifa Regime

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Forces of Al Khalifa regime in Bahrain have arrested a prominent Shia cleric. Mahmoud Al-Musawi was detained in his home in Bani Jamara region on Thursday morning, January 9, Al-Wefaq website reported.Regime forces also searched his house and took away his computer, books and other personal items.Al-Musawi is a cultural activist and an author who has written 20 books in different categories.Meanwhile, Bahrain was the scene of more rallies on Thursday in solidarity with the opposition figures and those held in Al Khalifa regime’s prisons.Since mid-February 2011, thousands of pro-democracy protesters have held numerous demonstrations in the streets of Bahrain, calling for the Al Khalifa regime to relinquish power./149
