(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The flags on the dome of Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah Zaria were replaced with new flags on Thursday the 2nd of January 2014 heralding the coming of the month of R/Auwal 1435.
New Green and Red flags with inscription of Ya Hussain were hoisted on the dome of the Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah during a ceremony attended by large number of People.
Speaking during the event, the Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky described the act as renewing of wilayah to Ahlulbayt (A). He further said R/Auwal is a month with mixed feelings of happiness and sadness for the fact that it is the birth month of the holy Prophet, it s also the month in which Imam Ali (A) and Fatimah were maltreated immediately after the demise of the Prophet (S).
It was the month Imam Ali was dragged to pay allegiance to a Khalifah selected at Thaqeefah contrary to the order of the Prophet (S); it was also the month in which the house of Fatmah (S) was attacked and set on fire and her rib broken causing her miscarriage. The sacrifice of Imam ALi when he slept on the mat of the Prophet to ransom him against planned assasination by the Quraish was also in R/Awwal- an action which Allah (SWT) commanded in the holy Qur'an.
Again, R/awwal, being the month the holy Prophet was born, is a month of happiness.
