(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A number of individuals working in Shiite religious places have been detained for seven days after being interrogated by the Bahraini authorities. Three more board members are detained in police custody to be taken to the public prosecution tomorrow.An annual grand religious procession is held in Al-Sanabis by people from different areas of Bahrain, come to peacefully mark the fortieth day after the day of Ashura.Al-Wefaq stressed that such oppressive measures come within the regime’s ongoing attacks against religious freedom in Bahrain, especially against events held by Shi’ites. Such abuse of power is used by the authorities to stop the people of Bahrain from calling for a democratic transition in Bahrain.Al-Wefaq calls on the Bahraini authorities to immediately release those who have been vindictively arrested stressing that the ongoing offensive attacks against religious freedoms will make the people more resolute and steadfast to realize their legitimate demands for democracy./129
