(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) Chanting slogans against Al Khalifa, the protesters marched through the streets of the northeastern island of Sitra on Saturday. The demonstrators also demanded the release of political prisoners and activists. According to the opposition group al-Wefaq, the regime forces on Saturday arrested the fathers of two citizens killed by police because they held officials accountable for the death of their children. Bahraini authorities have stepped up their crackdown on activists and their families over the past weeks. The uprising in Bahrain began in February 2011. According to local sources, scores of people have been killed and hundreds arrested in the Saudi-backed crackdown. Protesters say they will continue anti-regime demonstrations until their demand for the establishment of a democratically elected government and an end to rights violations are met. /149
