(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Majeed Milad, the head of the Capital Municipal Council, spoke at a Wednesday press conference at Al Wefaq headquarters in Bilad Qadeem about the disaster two rainy days have caused due to bad infrastructure. Milad said one can notice from the statements made since 2006 by officials and municipal members that the rain disaster in Bahrain may go back to as long as 40 years due to poor general planning.“Fortunately, all Bahraini parties agree that the state’s poor general planning is so bad it cannot be tolerated, which means the Government is a total failure”, he added.“This is a problem of state services not a political problem, Bahrain remains as it is despite the financial aid. There is a problem in the distribution of state budget which a great percentage of is allocated to the military and teargas purchases instead of Government services“Schools, the single university of Bahrain and some residential towns are suffering. All problems stem from the decades long political crisis in the country”.Sayed Ahmed Al-Alawy, municipal representative, mentioned at the press conference that no considerable budget has been allocated for the disaster the rain was expected to cause. He also noted that the Government’s discrimination includes water draining services, 8 cisterns have all been sent to Budaiya area while other areas are still suffering from flooded streets, he said.“The Government is denying that there is a crisis, and we do not have the budget or power to solve this disaster”, Al Alawy stated.Al Alawy challenged the Municipality Minister to publish his strategy for the expected disaster in public newspapers./129
