Malaysia bans Shiite teachings as a deviant faith!

The Sabah government believes that several individuals in the state have connection to Shia teaching and is investigating their activities, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister's Department Datuk Mohd Ariffin Arif said.

Malaysia (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Sabah government believes that several individuals in the state have connection to Shia teaching and is investigating their activities, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister's Department Datuk Mohd Ariffin Arif said.

He said, however the investigation is still at an early stage.

"Other than deviant teachings decreed as illegal such as Shiite, the Sabah government is also investigating several teachings deemed dubious," he said when replying to a question by Mohamad Alamin (BN-Bongawan) in the State Assembly in Kota Kinabalu, Wednesday.

The Sabah government via the State Fatwa Committee also banned several teachings that violate Sunni Islamic law such as Qadiani, Nasrul Haq, Haji Uyut bin Utun, Al-Arqam, Rufaqa, Bahai, Hasan anak Rimau and Awang Rezki Bersiri Muhammad.

Mohd Ariffin said also banned are teachings called Azhar Wahab, Tariqah Hasaniah, Tal Tujuh, Islam Jemaah and Tariqah Naqsyabandiah Al-Aliyyah Syeikh Nazim Al-Haqqani.

He said in efforts to prevent Muslims from being influenced by deviant teachings such as Shiite Muslims, the Sabah government via the Sabah Islamic Affairs Department, State Mufti Office, Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) and the Home Affairs Ministry had already organised several seminars.
