(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Supreme Criminal Court in Bahrain has announced it has postponed to December 12th the trial of Khalil Al Marzooq, the Political Assistant of Al Wefaq’s Secretary General. However, Al Marzooq will remain on travel ban.
Delegates and representatives of the opposition parties, embassies and international originations attended the second hearing session of his trial today as the regime insists on its baseless and aggressive accusations against Al Marzooq.
Marzouq’s defence team had requested lifting the travel ban ordered at the first hearing in the trial of the former lawmaker, who was also in court yesterday.
Marzouq was arrested on September 17 after being called in for questioning and later charged by the public prosecutor with “promoting acts that amount to terrorist crimes”.
At least 117 people have been killed in Bahrain since the Arab Spring-inspired protests erupted, according to the International Federation for Human Rights.
